De-Peopling, a Good Cause, and Gratitude

I’m recovering from my third convention in four weeks. Input gathered, friends and acquaintances made, and relationships renewed. There’s a lot of “good” things that came out of the last month or so, but also a confirmation of the direction that I want to take my writing career. To that end, there are several professionals I need to thank, and you know who you are.

This year, however, there is another group of individuals I need to express gratitude to — my fans. I have signed many books in the past month, both for my game design and my fiction — and several titles sold out at the shows I attended. While it’s always fun to connect with fans, the overwhelming outpouring of support was an unexpected surprise. So: THANK YOU and there’s more coming.

The most common questions I received were: “Are you working on any novels or new novellas?” The answer to that question is: “Yes.” The second one was: “I heard you were going to set up a Kickstarter… Is that true?” The answer to that? “Yep!” More to come on both, but I’m about a week away from a “Lock myself in my office and write and edit my arse off.” phase.

In addition to my writing efforts, there will be more announcements coming down the pipe related to Dork Storm Press. It’s a bit premature, but there are exciting shenanigans a-foot of the game and comics variety. 🙂

Now, on to the de-peopling. I’m a little off-kilter at the moment and need to refocus. But before I go, author Alex Bledsoe is doing something a little unusual (and cool!) for Protect. Check out his post titled Show Your Love For Eddie (And A Good Cause, Too!) for more information.
