Readers! Ask Your Questions about My Vampires for New Hero Launch

The New Hero

I am excited to announce that the New Hero anthology from Stone Skin Press will debut on June 20th.

To celebrate the release of New Hero, edited by Robin Laws, I’ll be participating in a online blog festivale of literary goodness on June 20th. I’ve hinted that my vampires are different from those you might have read about before. You may have also seen an image of him on the New Hero cover illustrated by Gene Ha.

Now, I hand the reins over to you. Help me come up with questions or topics to promote the launch of this anthology! What do you want to know about “Fangs and Formaldehyde?” Me? The writing/editing process?

Joining the Alliterates

Today, I am pleased to announce I have joined The Alliterates. This professional group of writers encompasses a range of talented authors from every facet of fiction imaginable. What are we up to?

Let me start with some of the other authors who have gotten back to me before I share some of my news. Matt Forbeck just released his new ’12 for ’12 Kickstarter Dangerous Games, which is a trilogy of thrillers set at GenCon. He also just released Brave New World Revolution.

Dave Gross started as lead writer over at Overhaul Games, where their first project is Baldur’s Gate: Expanded Edition.

Doug Niles is celebrating a nonfiction release called We Were Berliners – From Weimar to the Wall. He was the ghostwriter on the project.

Jeff Grubb hit the New York Times Bestseller’s List with his first Star Wars novel titled Scourge.

Stephen Sullivan has been working on short stories and there’s quite a few of them out including a few collections. The Crimson Collection is his most recent book and Front Harrow #1: Scream Lover will be an upcoming debut.

Bruce Cordell has a new novel coming out in June called Spinner of Lies, too.

My recent news is that Prime Books will be publishing Extreme Zombies. Edited by Paula Guran, the anthology will include “Tomorrow’s Precious Lambs,” a story by yours truly. Of course, I have a new science fiction novella out called Redwing’s Gambit, which is based on the Bulldogs! setting, and a new short story titled “Don’t Ignore Your Dead” which is part of the Don’t Read This Book collection put together by editor Chuck Wendig for the Don’t Rest Your Head RPG. We just got on the Stoker reading list, too! I’ll have a few more announcements as the summer goes on, but that’s about it for now.

Watch the Lovecraft eZine for a New Story from Me!

Ia! Ia!

Greetings fellow cultists! It gives me great pleasure to announce that I will have a very dark short story titled “The Dig” in an upcoming issue of the Lovecraft eZine.

The Lovecraft eZine is a monthly magazine for aficionados of fiction and other content with a Lovecraftian flair. Think Cthulhu! Dagon! The Necronomicon! Star vampires! But also. . .themes that were inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s stories.

I have a soft spot for “The Dig” because its evolution is dark and dire, indeed. In many ways, I had to dig through revisions, continually adding more text and revising it’s tragic end once, twice, and three times to finally get it into a state I was happy about. It was rejected in a previous state, but luckily I had a fantastic editor who was so, so kind enough to provide comments. He was right. Hence, the incarnation submitted here.

And you’ll get to read it. For free. Sometime this year. But I can’t tell you when. . .yet. Muwahahahahaha.

Please, do not be afraid. Go check out the other stories and illustrations in the Lovecraft eZine today!

Thank You! Fang will blow up. . .

First and foremost, thank you. I’m really happy I can write about Fang again and if there’s one thing I hope I can convey always and forever in my work, is just how much you, the reader, means to my future as an author. After all, I have not yet begun to fight! Er… Write!

Secondly, you really like explosions. Since two of the listed options tied for first place, you’ll get a bigger bang for your buck. (See what I did there?) 🙂

Not only will Fang blow up his own ship, but he’ll also exact a little revenge on the headquarters of Redwing Securities.

Now, to figure out a plot that won’t disintegrate when the building does…
